Senior Pricing Actuary (Insurance Company)

Job Description:?

• Contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization through active participation in strategic planning and goal setting
• Lead the analysis work to support product strategy for the business, taking into account customer preferences, market trend and competitiveness, as well as risk appetite of the company
• Develop an understanding of customer value and preferences, collaborating with proposition owners and other stakeholders, to have a greater focus on customer proposition
• Lead the research and development work of new products ideas, simplified underwriting solutions, alternative investment or reinsurance strategies, and adhoc deep dive on products from competitors or other Manulife business units
• Act as second line reviewer for new product initiatives to critically challenge risk return trade offs, with the objective of providing outside in perspective, ensuring consistency to corporate pricing standard
• Ensure that execution of pricing strategy is prioritized and carried out effectively, by collaborating with accountability owners
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior pricing team members, including the broader pricing team to enhance the overall capability level

?Requirements:?

• A minimum of Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics
• Minimum 7 years experience in actuarial roles in the life insurance industry pricing, valuation, risk management, or related
• FSA, FSAI or equivalent
• Excellent analytical ability to solve complex problems and sound actuarial judgement to recommend balanced decisions for the business
• Strong verbal and written communication to convey key ideas and results in a clear manner tailored to the target audience
• People leadership skills to provide an inclusive and engaging environment, build capabilities and manage for high performance
• Organizational skills, time management and prioritization to balance multiple concurrent deliverables in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality output
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the organization and external stakeholders
