Job Description Are you interested in solving deep customer experience problems? Are you looking to build features which will be used by millions of customers every day? Do you want to work with an amazing team? Then, this may be the role for you. As a member of the Customer platform team, you will be building the best user experience for Gojeks Users. You would primarily focus on Gojek’s Home screen performance and product discovery experience by customers, To excel in this role we believe you need to have excellent ability in prioritizing and tactical decision-making along with deep technical expertise and eagerness to take a hands-on approach as necessary in delivering values for the customers. Also, it’s equally important to be passionate in taking care of the growth and development of the team.
What You Will Do
- Independently responsible for end-to-end delivery of complex/multi-team projects, ensuring thorough planning & timely/predictable delivery of work within their team
- Work with stakeholders to ensure technology context is provided during complex feature specification, planning/ prioritization, in understanding the expectation around non-functional requirements and anticipating/addressing risks such as technical & architectural debt, downtime, data leaks, and execution problems. Negotiating scope, speed & quality trade-offs with Product Managers
- Mentoring, development, and career management: setting performance expectations, career planning, performance reviews, managing low performers, promotions, and terminations; with minimal guidance of a senior engineering manager
- Providing continuous feedback to the team so that the outcome of a performance review is not a surprise
- Is a go-to person for large parts of the systems, infrastructure and design choices in their team
- Participating in cross-team technical/delivery initiatives & leads those within their own team
- Excelling on Agile/XP SDLC practices and fine-tunes based on project needs Participating in the recruitment process by participating in interviews & helps engineering managers with staffing plans
- Engineers typically acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to meet the expectations of this role with at least 7 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience managing, mentoring, and supporting a team of direct reports
- Well-versed with Agile methodologies, best practices of writing tests, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
- Is hands-on and enjoys writing code
- Experience developing end-to-end products across mobile and backend at scaleExcellent written & verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, understanding & information exchange across all stakeholders
- Maturity to manage engineers who are more experienced than yourself.
