Credit / Corporate Bond Analyst

Team Overview

As a member of investment/fund management team, a credit analyst is required to add value by providing investment recommendations through an accurate and effective credit research. The credit analyst is also expected to increase coverage in order to achieve credit diversification in credit holdings.

Overview of role

The role function is to generate idiosyncratic alpha in our client portfolios through your coverage of Indonesian corporate debts. He/she will do this by analysing and understanding the business, financial and sustainability risk profiles of the companies under coverage as well as the legal structure of their debt securities. An overall assessment of risk and valuation of these factors will then be communicated to the Schroders credit PMs using our proprietary framework. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team with our entire global credit platform in all regions to generate investment ideas.

Essential Skills

• A good understanding of Indonesian capital market regulations and the legal framework for loan and debt.
• Holding an active license of Investment Manager Representative will be an advantage.
• Experience as a corporate bond analyst, ideally for a minimum of 5 years. Time spent in equity coverage or as corporate bank analyst will count towards the experience qualification.
• A strong academic record including a first or upper-second class degree and either a post graduate qualification, completion of the CFA or equivalent.
• Independent thinker with the ability to hold contrarian views.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with limited supervision
