The Role
Clariant Mining Solutions is a trusted global provider of emulsifiers for mining explosives and mineral processing reagents. We focus on creating value by improving performance of our customers’ processes through a global network of application and development centres and rapid response to customer requirements. The Regional Business Development Manager will be responsible for the identification of new business opportunities for explosives and flotation reagents, execution of technical growth programs at customers facilities, development of the Clariant value proposition and closing deals. You will be a pivotal part of the sales team, articulating the benefits of the Clariant offering, providing advice & recommendations of new products on industrial scale.
The position requires regular international travel through SE Asia. The successful applicant would ideally be based in Jakarta, but we accept applications from remote locations in Indonesia.
Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities for explosives emulsifiers and flotation reagents within the SE Asia region;
- Develop and recommend solutions for customer needs within the drill & blast and mineral processing sectors;
- Provide technical assistance and advice to clients on the implementation of solutions;
- Articulate the Clariant value proposition and drive opportunities to commercial outcomes;
- Map the target market for Clariant Mining Solutions in SE Asia, contribute to and implement the business strategy;
- Execute business development programs aligned to global strategic framework;
- Lead NBD projects for assigned territory and engage regional (Australia) and global technical resources towards successful implementation.
Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in Mining/Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy or related field;
- Minimum 10 years of new business development and/or sales growth experience;
- Experience within the diversified business practices and cultures across SE Asian countries;
- Good understanding of the mining value chain and working knowledge of the mining industry dynamics;
- Prior exposure to the mining drill & blast and/or mineral processing sectors preferable.
