JOB PURPOSE

The Category Senior Manager Logistics & Services will be responsible for leading the procurement function within the logistics and services category for the fiberglass manufacturing organization. The incumbent will oversee the development and implementation of procurement strategies that ensure cost optimization, supply chain efficiency, and service delivery excellence for the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Develop Strategies

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for the logistics and services category to support the overall business strategy and objectives.

Cost Analysis

• Identify opportunities for cost savings, value generation, and process improvements within the logistics and services category.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and ensure that service delivery requirements are met.

Supplier Selection

• Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and service delivery performance.

• Manage and negotiate supplier contracts and agreements.

• Analyse market trends and industry best practices to ensure that the organization is obtaining the best possible value for money.

• Build and maintain a high-performance team to support the procurement function within the logistics and services category.

• Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of procurement projects and initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Provide regular reports and analysis on procurement performance within the logistics and services category to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Job-Specific Skills:

• Strong experience in the procurement of logistics and services within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fiberglass industry.
• Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value generation.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies, and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Professional certification in procurement, such as CIPS or CPSM, is an added advantage.
