Principal Mining Engineer

About the Role

RPMGlobal is currently seeking a Principal Mining Engineer with to join our Consulting Division. The role is primarily responsible for the provision of consulting services to our clients and requires extensive mining engineering experience, including experience in a variety of metals commodities.

The successful candidate will have on-site experience in multiple commodities, international experience, extensive study management experience and previous experience in a consulting environment. An interest in working on projects globally is key to this role along with a willingness to collaborate with clients and colleagues from varied cultural backgrounds.

This is a permanent, full-time role based in our Banten office. Some travel is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the advisory business development team to develop proposals that demonstrate a clear understanding of our client’s needs and provide a robust, value-based approach to addressing them.
• Working efficiently and effectively as Project Manager, Project Director or as a technical expert within high-performance project and study teams.
• Collaborating with clients from project kick off to delivery, maintaining regular follow up engagement.
• Preparing and reviewing project reports as well as presenting key outcomes to clients.
• Facilitating knowledge transfer and providing input into the ongoing development of RPM’s internal consulting processes and proprietary software.
• Maintaining a wide professional network within the mining industry to consolidate and expand RPM’s client relationships.
Assist in marketing efforts in order to generate new leads.

About You

• Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Extensive experience in the mining industry composed of onsite and consulting roles both in Indonesia and internationally.
• Experience in metals commodities including nickel laterite, tin, bauxite, gold and/or copper.
• Underground experience would be highly regarded.
• Exceptionally strong written and spoken English skills.
• Experience as a Competent and or Qualified Person.
• High performance, technically strong, self-motivated individual.
• Must have current experience in Whittle, Ventsim, MSO, Deswik, Surpac ,Vulcan, Datamine, MS Office, RPM’s proprietary software.
• Technical understanding of surface and or underground operating practices, mine planning, economics and equipment including equipment selection and matching, mining methodologies, machine application and haul road optimisation.
Must be legally entitled to work in Indonesia and travel overseas.
