• Oversee the operation of corporate banking, ensuring compliance and adherence to the latest regulations
• Lead, develop, and nurture the legal team in Indonesia
• Work collaboratively across functions to achieve organisational goals
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen in all aspects of work
• Maintain a proactive approach to risk management
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on legal matters to senior management
• Review and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the banks interests and mitigate risks
• Manage any legal disputes, litigation, or regulatory investigations involving the bank, including coordination with external legal counsel when necessary
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks across all areas of the banks operations
• Provide guidance on corporate governance matters, including board of directors responsibilities, shareholder relations, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Identify legal risks and vulnerabilities within the organisation and develop strategies to mitigate those risks effectively
• Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture while providing guidance and support on complex legal matters
• Provide strategic legal advice to senior management on key business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, product development, and expansion strategies

To succeed in this Legal Director (Global Bank) role, you must have a wealth of experience, with at least 15 years spent in similar roles. Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 15 years experience in a similar role
• Experience in law firm for baking practice group and as in-house legal from reputable financial services
• Strong leadership with ability to grow and develop teams
• Excellent understanding of corporate banking operations and regulations
• Proven track record of working collaboratively across functions
• Proven leadership experience, with a track record of effectively managing a legal team and driving results
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian banking laws and regulations, including regulations issued by OJK and other relevant authorities
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues specific to the Indonesian market
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
