Global Logistics Manager

Your future role

Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for a suitably qualified Global Logistics Manager based at our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, negotiating and optimising our organisation’s international movement of goods in alignment with Austin’s organisational strategy and Indonesian and other appropriate international laws and regulations.

Role duties:

• Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive global logistics strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
• International Shipping: Coordinate the movement of goods across international borders, selecting the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods.
• Supplier and Vendor Management: Manage relationships with international suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure on-time deliveries and cost efficiency.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export laws to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
• Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve the global supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize lead times.
• Cost Control: Manage logistics budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including those related to geopolitical factors, natural disasters, and other potential disruptions.
• Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on logistics performance.
• Create and foster a customer service culture cross functionally so that all stakeholders and functions collaborate to be responsive, outcome focused and adding value across the group.
• Work collaboratively with others and ensure team effectiveness. In particular, close interaction with peers in the supervisory team.
• Liaise closely with all other functions within overseas entities of companies.

• At least 5-7 years experience in global logistics and supply chain management and a track record of success.
• Experience in Container/Flat Rack /Break-bulk
• Ideally working within a global freight forwarder
• Experience Dealing direct with Ocean carriers
• Experience with Duty/Customs/Taxes for importing into North America/South America Africa and Australia
• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing global business environment.
• Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
• Multi-times zones availability
• Work placement: Batam, Indonesia or Singapore (Hybrid)
