• About the Role:

As an Italian chef, it will be your responsibility to prepare and serve a wide menu of authentic Italian cuisine that showcases your expertise in local Italian flavours and cooking techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the head chef to create and update the Italian menu while maintaining its uniqueness.
• Maintain a high standard for the authenticity, quality, and presentation of the food.
• Keep an eye on how the Italian food is made and served, making sure that it complies with quality specifications, presentation guidelines, and recipe instructions.
• Look for and select high-quality Italian goods, including olive oil, fresh produce, meats, and cheeses.
• Adhere to kitchen health and safety regulations, which cover correct food handling and hygienic practices.
• Contribute to the creation of daily or seasonal specials, showcasing inventiveness while adhering to Italian culinary traditions.

Requirements:

• Obtaining a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related qualification
• Three years minimum of experience in Italian Cuisine.
• Being knowledgeable about the traditional ingredients, preparation methods, and regional variations of Italian cuisine will demonstrate your genuine love for it.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team.

For applicants seeking sponsorship, the following criteria must be met in addition to the above:

• It is necessary to have an active English language certification, such as the IELTS, with an overall score of at least 5.5 and no component falling below 5.0.
• You may need to successfully complete a skill assessment administered by the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities (TRA or VETASSESS), depending on the location of your placement or your passport.
