Key Responsibilities: Exercise advocacy strategies and actions with right based, data and social accountability approach, through local to national engagement for the achievement of child wellbeing outcomes. This position will coordinate the institutional response of organization on respective issues before key audiences and decision makers. This position also will leverage organizational expertise, nationally to influence the national governments response as well as strategic partnership. Strategy Development & Planning
  • Contribute to ensure advocacy strategy is aligned with global/regional direction, national strategies & national advocacy plan.
  • Exercise strategic advocacy and public policy analyse driven by our grass-root works.
  • Recommend specific advocacy strategy/ guideline, programs (including cross-cutting issues), and approach suitable to local and national contexts i.e, media and public campaign, building consortium on specific issues and community-based advocacy.
Resource Acquisition & Management
  • Provide technical support on right based, data and social accountability approach to cross-functional teams as agreed in Service Charter for development of new projects.
  • Provide technical support to zonal and ADPs in development of grant proposal to increase funding and resources for social accountability in the zonal/ADP level.
Capacity Building
  • Coordinate and facilitate capacity building of the organization (at national office level) on right based, evidence and social accountability approach.
  • Conduct competency assessment and facilitate capacity building of zonal and ADPs in the region for expansion and strengthening of Local Level Advocacy as part of Social Accountability model (these may include active involvement in training, engagement with trainers, establishing institutional links, identifying opportunities for staff exchange or mentoring).
Accountability & Quality Assurance:
  • Providing technical guidance to the zonal and ADPs in development and implementation of social accountability model.
  • Provide technical support for Zonal and ADPs in ensuring adherence to WV Partnership policies, protocols and standards and policy development related to Local Level Advocacy as part of Social Accountability model based on learning and experience from local level advocacy activities.
  • Managing research, information & resources for significant revenue generation.
  • Provide high level technical advice to Zonal and ADPs on right based, data, social accountability and advocacy Theory of Change, scaling up of field evidence to enhance integration of advocacy into technical programs and designing and implementation of special advocacy initiatives and programs related to CWB thematic priorities e.g. health, education and child protection etc
  • Develop partnerships with reputed and high-profile research institutes to scale up field evidence generated by Social Accountability initiatives and support development of policy briefs, position papers to influence national policies, document and share evidence-based advocacy practices within partnership.
Networking & Coordination:
  • Participate and actively contribute to the partnership forums, working Groups and networks related to right based, data dan social accountability approach as deemed necessary by Advocacy Manager
  • Work closely with other members of the integrated ministry team to ensure that right based, data and social accountability approach is understood and integrated within the wider ministry of World Vision in the national, zonal and APs.
  • Develop and coordinate research plans where necessary in collaboration with external partners and organizations.
Management & Leadership:
  • Submits periodical/monthly accomplishment report.
  • Build and maintain positive spirit of working in team with other staff in respective unit and department.
  • Facilitate in the practice of spiritual discernment and prayer.
Required Professional Experience 3 – 5 years experience in governance advocacy, right based, data and social accountability approaches program. Required Education Preferably masters degree in social science or any related field. Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill.
  • Excellent collaborative and facilitation skills.
  • Has extensive networks in governance, human rights and child protection issues
  • Strong understanding of public policy, planning and budgeting mechanism, government decision-making processes (especially at the sub-national level) and other civil society networks and coalitions.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, to visit project sites, attend meetings, and engage with stakeholders.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the local context.
  • Ability to travel and participate in field visits, sometimes in remote or challenging locations.
  • Adequate physical health to meet the demands of frequent travel and fieldwork.
