Background

Save the Children Indonesia’s 2030 Breakthroughs are SURVIVE (no child dies from preventable causes before 5th birthday), LEARN (all children learn from a quality basic education) and BE PROTECTED (violence against children is no longer tolerated). Our Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2022 – 2024 aims to achieve the 2030 objectives, through Strategic Goals encompassing five areas: (1) Health and Nutrition; (2) Education; (3) Child Protection; (4) Livelihood, Humanitarian, Resilience and Climate Change; and (5) Child Rights Governance.

Education related projects within Partnership and Strategic Program Operation (PSPO) Department need support for Specialist /Advisor to support their program design, implementation, and evaluation. Program Development & Impact (PDI) Unit also need support to generate concept notes, proposals, presentation materials, and impact documents.

To effectively meet those needs outlined above, we are seeking an External Collaborator to support for both Education & GEDSI aspects. This individual will be instrumental in supporting our current range of projects and proposal development work, including:

• Sponsorship Program for Education & GEDSI programming in Sumba.
• Girls Unstoppable Lego project in Kupang and Jakart a areas.
Occasional support required from various projects, e.g. Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Grow Her: Kakao program in South Sulawesi, Global Grant (GG) 8, We See Equal (WSE), Community-Based Climate Change Adaptation (CBCCA)

Duty Station : Kupang/Home-Based

Duration : 10 months

Report to : Acting Sponsorship Program Manager in coordination with LEGO Program Manager

Objectives

• To support Sponsorship project and LEGO project for Education & GEDSI programming
To support other projects and proposal development if required

Deliverables

• Support Project implementation ( LEGO project , Sponsorship project) - All work should be completed to a satisfactory level according to the agreed timeline.
• Support Program Development & Impact Unit ( Contribute to concept notes / proposals that are gender sensitive and/or transformative. Transformation alignment (strategic & impact documents, revised capacity statement, master logical framework) - All work should be completed to a satisfactory level according to the agreed timeline.
  

Required Background and Experience, Skills and Behaviors

• Master’s degree in any field of study, an additional two years of professional experience may substitute for the Masters degree requirement.
• At least 7 years of related experiences in developing and executing GEDSI-related projects in developmental and humanitarian contexts.
• Knowledge of Indonesia’s GEDSI and Education system and policy.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, collaborative, problem-solving, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in tools such as political economy analysis, gender analysis, and child rights situation analysis, with methodologies to prevent learning loss, school dropouts, gender, disability and social inequities.
• Knowledgeable in methods and practices for advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls to prevent learning loss, school dropouts, gender, disability and social inequities.
