Position Summary:

The Senior Project Manager successfully plans and manages main Cohesive technical projects through all phases of the project lifecycle to time, and within budget. They are responsible for understanding /managing the user expectations and contractual obligations, sharing the project outcomes with the technical leaders, identifying and booking of the required resources, and developing the schedule to ensure timely completion of the project. The Senior Project Manager also maintains the Cohesive project quality standards (based on PMI and PRINCE2).

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the Cohesive Project Methodology standards and processes are followed throughout the project, as well as providing evaluation, risk assessment, and working with the technical team to achieve resolution of project issues and identifying further opportunities within the project.

Senior Project Managers are required to coach other Project Managers as part of their role to ensure best practices of project management are followed. They assist the Services Managers in all aspects of project delivery, developing a strong spirit of co-operation and collaboration through continuous liaison with various Bentley/Cohesive teams across the organization.


Your Day-to-Day / Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery
    • Ensuring projects are well defined
    • Resourcing and mobilisation of a team
    • Produce and maintain a schedule of deliverables and a detailed delivery programme
    • Develop and maintain the project resource plans track delivery progress, produce client dashboard reports and hold regular reviews with the client
    • Directing and Managing the Cohesive team to enable delivery of complex Digital transformation projects/ programmes - involving Cloud services (Azure/AWS/Google etc)
    • Ensuring that both Cohesive internal Governance and the Client’s Governance requirements are delivered
    • Contract Management
    • Commercial change management - Manage the Early Warning and Change Control process throughout the project
    • Create and manage the Project Risk & Opportunity Register and manage accordingly
    • Pro-actively identify and escalate any significant project concerns or issues
    • Supplier management
  • Project Implementations
    • Actively drive the implementation best practices and communicating these to the appropriate internal audience to help improve repeatability and contain risks
    • Oversees the successful delivery of all projects, both time and materials and fixed price
    • Responsible and accountable for end to end delivery of assigned projects, to achieve the project objectives and outcomes.
    • Manage projects based on PMI/Agile principles. This includes, but is not limited to:
      • Identifying and agreeing upon success and acceptance criteria,
      • Planning and tracking activities, resources and budgets,
      • Resource management,
      • Change management,
      • Stakeholder management,
      • Risk management,
      • Issue management,
      • Conflict resolution,
      • Management reporting,
      • Weekly revenue forecasting and required project dashboards.
    • Manage stakeholders through effectively communicating project plans, progress, expectations, risks, assumptions, and dependencies in a timely and clear fashion throughout the project.
    • Monitor project performance metrics for the indication of deviations from the project plan and identify corrective actions to be taken.
  • Assist in Project Management development
    • Assist and support team leaders and development of their project managers
    • Ensures compliance with organisational policy and legislation
    • Establish effective communication routes at both individual and team level to share relevant information, including organisational goals set by the management
    • Performance management and appraisals for the team leaders
    • Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new members to the team
    • Actively mentors the team to help staff realise their full potential and that they understand the direction that Cohesive is taking
    • On-going training, mentoring, coaching, and development of direct reports
    • Encouraging 2-way feedback and actively mentor team members to reach their full potential
    • Planning the goals, objectives and tasks for the team and communicating this to direct reports as needed
  • Travel will be required for project meetings, scoping workshops, reviews, etc. The amount of travel expected is a minimum of 30%.


What You Bring to The Team:

  • Qualifications
    • University degree in a technical field, college diploma in a technical field, or relevant industry experience.
    • Certification in project management, such as PMP/PRINCE2 certification, would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge / Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a project management capacity, ideally including software implementation projects
    • Detailed knowledge of the region with Owner Operator background, or have worked for an SI / Software Vendor associated to the Power, Utilities, Transportation or related Industry
    • Very strong interpersonal skills, possesses drive and ambition, confident negotiator for project variations
    • Experience with Fixed Price, Time & Materials and Recurring fees project.
    • Extensive experience within a customer-oriented project environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Capital Intensive Assets industry experience is an advantage.
    • Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project.
    • Proactive, detail-orientated, driven and self-motivated.
    • Experience at working both independently and in a team.
    • Experience working with virtual teams is essential.
    • Natural leader, persuasive, encouraging and objective.
    • Strong interpersonal and team building skills, possessing diplomacy and business judgment.
    • Ability to work and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines.

Desirable

    • Good spoken and written English
    • Have knowledge or experience in Maximo Enterprise Asset Management and advisory business
    • Holds a formal Project Management certification e.g. PMI/Agile or equivalent
