About the role

The Specialist Warehouse will assist in the delivery of the Thiess global framework while promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for everyone at work. Reporting to the Superintendent Warehouse and based on Balikpapan Support Facility, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high quality solutions and results.

In this role, you will:

• Assist in the delivery of the Thiess global framework to deliver and support best practice warehousing for operations globally
• Provide high quality technical support and implement best practice warehousing solutions
• Seek innovation in technology and warehousing processes
• Ensuring consistency accross processes, procedures and systems
• Understand the strategy as it applies to warehousing service, systems and spares management on the project
• Provide warehousing support for warehousing service, systems and spares management at warehouses globally
• Provide high quality and timely information on actions required to maintain acceptable services to stake holders
• Maintain and preserve the database whilst ensuring all existing data is correct, remains intact and accessible for future reference
• To ensure workshop/warehouse understand the value proposition of recommendations and get these endorsed
• Ensure the JDE maintenance system is utilised effectively on all sites to ensure consistency and transparency across the business and records are maintained accurately
• Travel to site as required to assist with warehouse support
• Deliver the Thiess warehousing monthly commitments through the warehouse team and onto relevant sites
• Work closely with the procurement and inventory management team to optimize inventory levels and allocation reducing cost of redundant stock
• Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of warehousing work through enhanced practices and new technologies

About you

• echanical Engineering or Qualifications relevant to role
• Warehouse management experience with a background in mining or transport industry
• Experience in maintenance warehousing and inventory management processes
• Competent in the use of Computerised Warehouse Management Systems
• Knowledge of contract management, including subcontractors
• Highly effective communication skills
• Excellent people management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a global team of people
• Ability to negotiate with stakeholders and influence outcomes
